Images of a Dream Wedding

What are the elements of a classic American dream wedding? What images come to mind when you hear those magic words: white wedding?

Here is one take on some of the elements that a dream wedding should include. See how many you recognize:

If you’ve spent even a year living in the U.S., most of these elements should be immediately recognizable as familiar wedding imagery: tiered and flower-bedecked cake, high-heeled white shoes (w. glitter), diamond ring, cute flower girl, special hair style, stylish invitation (but no groom), bouquet, bridesmaid dresses, stunning white dress – check, check, and check; these are all ingredients for the traditional wedding of our dreams (if you are female).

Add in some fancy honeymoon suites as a bonus to create that perfect day, and you should have a happy bride – or so the media would like you to believe. Did you notice something missing though? In all this wedding imagery, where is the groom? It seems the groom is not necessary for our dream wedding.
